We often get asked why there’s piped icing around the edge of the photo—and there’s a good reason! The piped icing helps secure the edible image to the cake, keeping it flat, neat, and in place. Without this border, the image could lift, wrinkle, or absorb too much moisture from the icing underneath. So while it also looks lovely and frames your photo beautifully, the piped edge is essential for making sure your image sticks properly and stays picture-perfect until it’s time to slice and serve.
